The Wound of Faith
At some point in your childhood, you may have desperately needed help and felt like you were abandoned by the universe. And it left you feeling insignificant. This created a wound around your connection to ‘God’ and your importance in the world. From an early age, you may have felt less important than those around you. Perhaps this started with your parents—feeling like you were invisible to them. Maybe they overlooked your achievements, failed to recognize what made you special, or didn't understand your place in the world. So you may have entered adulthood with the belief that the universe is either nonexistent or indifferent to you, and that unlike other people, you lack any real purpose or direction. Today this can show up as a fundamental mistrust of life itself. You might fear being hurt by forces out of your control, or by a reality that seems random, chaotic, and cruel—and that you'll be abandoned when it matters most. There may be a pervasive feeling of having been betrayed or victimized. You feel that nothing protected you when you were vulnerable and needed it most, so you've cut yourself off from the universe and from compassion. When emotions threaten to overwhelm you, you simply numb them out. You can't comprehend why existence is so brutal, which can make you bitter and cynical, or you withdraw emotionally. This could potentially lead to addictions as a way to avoid facing reality. On the flip side, maybe you’re consumed by the world's suffering, feeling it so intensely that it paralyzes you. You might over-identify with anyone in the smallest amount of pain and constantly try to save others. Maybe you romanticize your pain while also being terrified by it. You lack any energetic boundaries, so everyone's emotions pour right intoyou and dictate your behavior. While you may not see yourself as a victim in the traditional sense, you could be trapped in a victim mentality by wallowing in your own suffering and becoming a self-sacrificing martyr.
Your superpower is being a representative for the divine. Directly connected to the universe, you have the ability to channel it for the highest good of yourself and everyone around you.
