The Wound of Loss

Something in your childhood wounded your sense of safety, whether it was physical emotional psychological financial sexual. You may have been severely deprived of any of these things. Maybe you grew up poor, or lost one of your parents early, or had parents who provided all the necessary things but neglected you emotionally. See where you feel the most neglected and there you’ll find your wound. Today you may have an underlying fear of losing things: your safety money possessions love. Even when everything seems permanent and good, you may always be afraid of some unexpected loss. Have you subconsciously been searching for safety and security through material possessions? No matter how much money you accumulate though, you won’t ever feel totally secure, because material possession are not safety. Safety can’t be found in the external world, it is an internal concept – this is the path to transmuting your Chiron. People with this wound sometimes cling, hoard, or demand things from others, physically or emotionally, in order to feel safe. Others spend money they don’t have, surrounding themselves with material comforts so that they feel they never lack anything. But sometimes this wound isn’t about money at all, but about how the individual appears in the world. They want to be seen as beautiful, smart, important, and have an intense fear of being ordinary. But this is all the same wound: they’re afraid of being nothing to the world and experience a sort of lack due to this. They need the admiration to keep going and are afraid of having to face themselves and what they feel they lack inside.

Your superpower is that you’re safe no matter what happens; nothing can take away or give you a sense of security, because you were born safe. And with this internal safety you attract all the material comforts you’ve wanted.
