Awaseru — Solo

Under the Curaçao sun, the landscape reveals an extraordinary range of mineral colors. Among them is ochre, a warm yellow-earth hue that remained in our Creative Director's memory long after her travels.

Solo takes its name from the Papiamentu word for sun.

Rendered in ochre sandstone, its flattened silhouette references a raindrop touching the earth. The stone rests upon American black walnut, connecting the Caribbean landscapes that informed its color to the country where the idea was born.

Designed for passive fragrance diffusion, Awaseru accepts fragrance oil through its porous sandstone surface, releasing scent into a room without electricity.
